Hello Friend. My name is

Tero.

A jack of all trades and master of none. Still better than a master of one.

I’m just an IT guy who’s spent more years under the hood—of both cars and servers—than I care to count. My résumé might read like a love letter to the automotive world, but don’t let that fool you: making computers go beep boop is where I really hit my stride. When I’m not tinkering with my homelab or spreading the good word about Free and Open Source Software (FOSS), you’ll probably find me cruising on my motorcycle, dreaming up new home automation projects, or elbow-deep in some electronics build. Cars, code, and circuit boards—if it’s got an engine or a shell, I’m all in.

About Me

I’m Tero—your friendly neighborhood IT wizard with over a decade of hands-on experience. I’ve climbed the tech ladder from systems support all the way to Chief Digital Officer before hitting 30, and then took a few steps back to focus on what I truly enjoy: being a specialist. After five years as a CDO, I realized I thrive most when I’m deep in the tech trenches. Think of me as a Swiss Army knife in human form—servers, support, networks, endpoints, budgeting, Python, SQL—you name it, I’ve probably done it. Along the way, I’ve picked up the “Most Successful Employee of the Year” award three times. Not bad for a self-taught techie, right?

By day, I wrangle Microsoft servers, desktops, Docker containers, M365, networks, Linux servers, and Python development.

By night, I dive into my homelab, self-host apps, tinker with Linux and Docker, and build web apps with Python and Flask. I love making people happy—whether it’s colleagues, clients, or curious friends. Helping out is just part of who I am.

Lately, I’ve been on a mission to blend old tech with new. Case in point: our household still rocks a working 90s landline phone, hooked up to (you guessed it) a self-hosted PBX server.

My work ethic is simple: I’m all about getting things done, and I do it with a smile. I’m not just here to clock in and out; I’m here to make a difference, one line of code at a time. Whether it’s automating mundane tasks or solving complex problems, I’m your go-to guy.

My motto? “Treat the word ‘impossible’ as nothing more than motivation.”

Here are a few technologies I've been working with recently:
  • M365
  • Azure
  • PowerApps
  • PowerAutomate
  • Data Lake storage
  • Python
  • Robot Framework
  • Docker
  • Debian Linux
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • MySQL
  • Flask
  • API’s
  • MariaDB

Some of my projects

Payroll software
Python Bootstrap Flask MariaDB Google Drive API
Payroll software
Developed a customized payroll software for two companies within our consolidation, significantly reducing manual labor and enhancing operational efficiency. The software enables users to access their payroll data in real time with just a click of a button, fostering a transparent and efficient payroll process. I began the project by sketching out the app in my trusty notebook, then developed it module by module using Python, Flask, and MariaDB queries. The application also integrates data from shared Google Sheets documents, ensuring comprehensive and accurate payroll management. Over the course of several months, the software was meticulously developed and implemented. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with staff appreciating the unprecedented transparency and real-time access to their salary breakdowns. I've been told that this solution is unique in our industry, offering capabilities that even our largest competitors lack. This project stands as one of my most significant coding achievements, demonstrating my ability to create impactful and efficient software solutions.
Laturi-line of apps
Python Bootstrap Flask REST API
Laturi-line of apps
Developed a web application for our sales team that streamlines the process of photographing cars. This fully responsive site, mainly utilized on smartphones, captures photos, adds a branded frame, and uploads them to our web inventory via an API. The initial version of the app was a desktop software designed to pull images from our photography studio's API and upload them to our web inventory. However, it became obsolete when the studio vendor created their own integration with our web inventory.
Tyre label printing
Python Bootstrap Flask CUPS MSSQL
Tyre label printing
This is my tyre label printing app, a powerful and user-friendly solution developed with Python, Flask, and CUPS. Designed for simplicity, this application allows you to choose a printer once (saved via browser cookies), enter a car license plate, and seamlessly fetch car details from our ERP to print four branded stickers. This app ensures proper branding of tyres and prevents them from getting misplaced due to poor markings, streamlining the process of labeling tyres for our used cars and enhancing both organization and brand visibility.

Get in Touch

My inbox is always open! Whether you’ve got a burning question or just want to say hi, I’ll do my best to get back to you—promise I won’t leave you hanging! Since I’m not keen on bots flooding me with spam, here’s a little riddle for you. The address you seek consists of my first and last name (obviously), but don’t forget my middle name, Mikael. So, put my first name first, then use the common separator dot, add the first letter of my middle name, and finally my last name. The part after the ((AT)) sign is what’s missing from this list: [‘Neutron’, ‘Electron’]. The final part is simply dot me. No, not you, me!
